Denver, Colorado
Denver, Colorado is a fine city, for many reasons, and we at Pembury Partners are delighted to have recently welcomed some new clients based there. We thought therefore it might be nice to have a closer look at The Mile High City.
Lying 1.6km, or one mile, above sea level, Denver is known for its outdoors lifestyle, arts and culture, fine dining, diversity and epic scenery. All of this can be easily accessed from anywhere in the world, via Denver International Airport.
The city is something of a foodie’s paradise, with a plethora of boutique, chef-owned restaurants to explore. It’s also famous for its craft beer from hundreds of microbreweries producing an ever-changing landscape of hop-infused goodness.
There are art galleries, studios and craftspeople by the dozen, street art for everyone to enjoy and everything from high-end brand shopping to one-off artisan-produced artefacts and garments. The music scene thrives too, so there’s always somewhere to go after shopping, eating and drinking.
Being so close to the Rocky Mountains, skiing is a big deal here. There are numerous world-class resorts within a couple of hours drive of the city, offering hundreds of square miles of skiable terrain.
Of course it is impossible to mention Denver without also talking about the Denver Broncos. The team has been around since the pre-NFL days of 1960, and have since advanced to become one of the most successful American Football teams on the planet, winning 8 American Football Conference (AFC) championships and 3 Super Bowls.
The prevalence of the local team, and the stream of ski and snowboard medallists hailing from Colorado, is of great interest to us at Pembury Partners. These top-flight athletes rely on the peak condition of their bodies to be able to compete at this level, the care of which falls to a team of trainers, coaches, nutritionists, physiotherapists and chefs. It is these professionals which we excel at finding and placing.
Private chefs for NFL players (not only from the Broncos) are particularly in high demand. The stresses these athletes put on their bodies are unimaginable to mere mortals, and the ability to withstand them relies in great part on the fuel – i.e. food – on which they sustain themselves. The correct diet means, in short, a longer and more competitive career, and has more effect than any cocktail of supplements one would care to mention.
A private chef will often work within a team or with a nutritionist, to ensure that not only does the player get the nutrients they need, but that the food is delicious and fresh.
We’d love to welcome more clients in the Denver, Colorado area. Should you have a need for a private chef, or other sporting entourage members or domestic staff, please get in touch for a free consultation.
