The executive search process relies on the human touch – after all, essentially we’re helping people find other people to work closely with them. It can really aid this process, therefore, to meet in person in order to fully understand all the requirements. With this in mind, we’re always happy to visit potential clients for a no-cost consultation as part of our service.
We need to understand the exact details of each role being offered. Any information a client can provide is helpful in putting together a clear profile of the person/people required – this is vital for the search. All the minor details, as well as the major ones of course, can really assist us in our search – for example, the size and details of the property/ies and their grounds, the precise location and situation (city, country, etc.), the surrounding areas or neighbourhood, and the current staffing situation, even if this is not directly related to the role the client is looking to fill.
The tone of the household is just as important – is it very formal, semi-formal or quite relaxed? Who will be in the home, is it permanently occupied, and who will the candidate be dealing with on a regular basis? By understanding the finer detail of a household we can streamline the process of finding the ideal candidate, and avoid wasting the client’s time meeting with candidates who simply would not fit.
We provide full consultation services and we usually expect to deal directly with the principal. We appreciate that this is not always possible, nor is it the best solution in every case, but if we’re dealing with a representative of the principal it’s vital for this person to understand all the details of the role, the household and the desired ideal candidate.
We regularly consult via telephone and video call as well as in person, depending on location, timing and the best solution for the household, estate or family office. However, where possible we encourage clients to take advantage of our offered in-person consultation services. We’re more than happy to travel to clients’ homes for a face-to-face introductory consultation, in order to discuss the details in extensive detail and fully understand the property and the requirements of the principals. This puts us in the best position to assist and advise.
