Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show
The Miami International Boat Show has been on the marine radar in Florida for over 50 years, and the 2022 event is set to be the biggest ever – the organisers are claiming it as the largest boat and yacht event in the world. Now called Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show, it is the combination of the Miami International Boat Show, the Miami Yacht Show and SuperYacht Miami.
There promise to be over 1000 exhibitors and thousands of boats across six venues – land and water – and five days. A brief overview:
Miami Beach Convention Center – the original home of Miami Boat Show, the Miami Beach Convention Center exhibits boats up to 49 feet, engines and engine manufacturers, marine electronics and accessories.
Pride Park – just across the street from the convention center is the Progressive Boat Show Experience, where you’ll find a 40,000 gallon pool, wakeboard simulators and other entertainment and leisure.
One Herald Plaza – is the location for powerboats, motor yachts up to 125 feet, and tenders for large yachts.
Museum Park Marina – the latest in sailing boats, catamarans and accessories for sailing enthusiasts.
Sea Isle Marina – for those looking to purchase a boat, Sea Isle Marina offers the opportunity to test drive over 150 vessels, and see many new and brokerage boats.
Island Gardens – is home to SuperYacht Miami. This exclusive marina – only open to those with VIP or SuperYacht Miami tickets – is, as you’d reasonably expect, dedicated to the world’s largest and most expensive yachts.
There are concerts and other entertainments scheduled across the five days, and a host of fun things to do for the families of boating enthusiasts – most of this takes place at Pride Park (see above).
3 Superyachts to see in Miami
Gene Machine & Gene Chaser – two yachts must be better than one, right? Damen Yachting’s flagship and dedicated support vessel were built for a world-renowned scientist, allowing him to alloy his scientific research with his family’s love of adventure.
Marguerite – is currently available for charter by Moran Yacht & Ship. The 201-foot Lurssen features a two-storey owner’s suite, extensive entertaining spaces and a professional dive centre.
Thunder – stunning to look at, the 164-foot Thunder is a superyacht like no other. The interior features 10-foot ceilings in the main salon, adorned with works of art and chandeliers. It’s no show-pony though – construction is rich in lightweight carbon fibre, contributing to a range of over 3000 nautical miles.
